The coil wrapping machine video shows the two layer’s wrapping in one machine, first layer is stretch film, outside layer is pp woven belt.
It applies two layers of wrapping material to the coil – an inner layer of stretch film and an outer layer of PP woven belt.
The stretch film layer helps contain and consolidate the coil turns, preventing movement and slipping. The elasticity of the film allows it to conform tightly to the coil shape.
The PP woven belt outer layer provides additional structural support, protection from abrasion and buffering against impacts. The belt material is tough and durable.
• Applying an inner layer of stretch film helps contain smaller parts that may be inside or around the coil. This reduces the risk of these parts getting caught in the outer belt layer.
• The film conforms tightly to the coil shape and fills gaps, providing a smooth surface for the outer belt layer to adhere to. This improves stability of the two-layer wrap.
• A thin film layer reduces the overall thickness of the wrap, allowing more coils to fit on a pallet for transportation and storage.
• The outer belt layer offers advantages like:
- Added rigidity and support for the coil to reduce deformation during handling
- Abrasion resistance to protect the coil and film layer from damage
- Impact absorption to cushion the coil against vibration and bumps
• Applying the two wrapping materials in a single machine ensures they are applied concentrically for a neat, secure wrap. Using separate machines can result in imperfect concentricity.
• Some coil wrapping machines have two independent wrapping units that can operate simultaneously to reduce cycle times.
• Precise tension control of both the film and belt layers is important to achieve an optimized balance of containment and protection.
• Proper seal overlaps between the film and belt layers prevent moisture, dust and contaminants from getting trapped between the layers.
• Additional end caps, trays or end wraps can be applied after the dual-layer wrap to further reinforce the coil ends.
